Meet Maël & Renaud

Hello, we are a French couple, Maël (30) and Renaud (32). We live in Paris and we have been together since 2016. 2023 is about to be an important year because we are getting married!
As an engineer, Renaud is fond of science-fiction (Star Wars, Dune, Isaac Asimov books) and also very keen on trying new technologies (Apple addict!). He also plays the piano and loves discovering new music, and even tries to compose. Most of the time, Maël will end up sitting next to the piano with a glass of wine telling him that he is very talented (yes, love is blind!).
Maël is very creative, loves painting, reading, cinema and series. He even writes books during his free time. While working in a bank, he is also training to become a meditation teacher. Meditation is really a life-changing experience! Maël is also a Harry Potter fan and will be a lifetime Gryffindor (how original!). And we will love our children even if they happen to be Slytherin!
Together, we love meeting friends in Parisian Coffees or at home, going for a run in the forest, playing tennis, hiking, practicing yoga, travelling and discovering new cultures. During holidays, when we are not with our families and friends, we are on the move. Currently, we are planning a trip to India – it will be the fourth time there for Maël ! We cannot wait to travel as a family. And Canada will be our first trip when there will be three of us.
We are very lucky to have wonderful families… and 4 nieces. Our parents are very supportive, very tolerant and they cannot wait to see us becoming parents. It is our dream and we discussed it quite early in our relationship. We want to become parents, because we have so much to share and many values to transmit. Growing up, it has always been a continuous dream, and we are looking for a perfect match to realize it ! And we know that Canada is an open-minded country with wonderful values where surrogacy is ethical. This is a must.
When we imagine the relationship with our Surrogate, we imagine a good fairy who will be joyful, courageous, strong and who is willing to be a part of our lives. Because this is a long-term relationship, because this person will help us realize a miracle. Because after such a fabulous journey, we can’t imagine our children growing up without sharing news and photos with the surrogate who has made this dream possible.
We have dreamt of children for so many years, and until now it hasn’t felt real, but we are ready ! We started our journey with San Diego Fertility Center (SDFC) in California, where we were surrounded by great professionals and very well guided. We have now 8 eggs that are on ice and we can’t wait to move forward with our surrogate. We hope to have at least 2 children, and we can tell you that our children will be very much loved. Our parents, brothers, sisters, nieces and friends will also be around us. We can already imagine them at the Paris airport, waiting for us to arrive with our baby. Yes… everybody will probably be crying of joy =).
After the birth of our child and returning to France, our plan is to stay some time at home with our baby with our parents’ help. We are very eager to be able to share the moments of our new child’s life with our surrogate mother.
All it takes is a good fairy.
