Hi there, thanks for taking the time to review our profile. Our names are Daniel and Declan. We are a married couple from Cork, Ireland. We have been together for 14 years and got married in 2021. We have a dog named Alfie who keeps us very busy!
We are very excited to start a family and hope you can help us on the journey. We have always dreamed of having children but it’s now starting to feel like a real possibility! We’ve been working with a great team at our fertility clinic and an amazing egg donor. We are ready to take the next steps and hope you can help us!
This child will be so loved by so many people including Daniel’s Dad and step-mum and Declan’s parents. They are so excited to welcome a new grandchild. We are very close with our families and try to spend as much time with Declan’s niece Addison as possible. She’s 3 years old and full of life!
Daniel is an OBGYN and is passionate about women’s health. Declan is a nurse and has worked in lots of different areas of nursing. We hope this will help us support someone during a surrogacy journey to the best of our ability. Hopefully our knowledge can help but ultimately we know that you are the expert in your own body and will fully support you in any choices you want to make during pregnancy and birth because you will know what works best!
When we imagine our relationship with our surrogate we imagine a close and supportive relationship. The person who is able to give us this amazing gift would no doubt become very special to us. We would hope to visit early in the pregnancy or even before to spend time together getting to know each other and your family. In the long run we think that this special relationship will last longer than a pregnancy and we hope to maintain our connection into the future as our family grows.
When this baby is born, our plans are to spend some time in Canada while all the paperwork is being arranged. Our parents will probably visit during this time to help out. Once we move back to Ireland we are planning on taking as much time as possible before going back to work. Once we get home we will have lots of family who will be eager to help with the new arrival!
Music is a big part of our life. We met in a university choir way back in 2009! We have been singing in choirs together ever since. We both play the piano and enjoy going to concerts and shows when we can.
We also love to travel and have been on some amazing trips together. We took some time away from work and spent 4 months travelling together in South America, Australia and New Zealand back in 2018. We still look back longingly at that time and look forward to travelling as a family in the near future! Our favourite place we ever visited was the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador.
