To our Surrogate,
Thank you so much for helping us start our family. As a same-sex couple, we appreciate your willingness and generosity to be our surrogate.
Both of us have always dreamed of becoming parents. Scott has wanted to be a parent since kindergarten when he wrote that he wanted to be a “mommy” when he grew up. This is a testament to the type of mother he grew up with. Scott is most looking forward to supporting baby in exploring and understanding their world. Michael has always been excited about the little joys of parenthood – passing down family traditions, recipes and the generational tales that anchor a family together.
When baby is born, we both plan to take paternity leaves so that we don’t miss any opportunity to bond and care for our child. We are prepared to provide all the support that we can. This means that we are also excited for the late-night diaper changes, early morning wake ups, temper tantrums, and to most importantly learn and grow alongside our child.
We look forward to all the ups and downs of parenthood – from their first steps, first words and new passions, we understand it comes with great responsibility to nurture a person into their own. As our child grows, we are excited for the trials and tribulations that comes with toddler emotions to teenage growth! We hope to continue and build on our own small traditions, especially the personal touches that a child can bring holidays like Christmas and Halloween. Our dog Lucy has been a great first addition to our family, and we just know Lucy will love a future with another member of the family. In the meantime, we are excited to knit little outfits to keep baby stylish and warm during the winter months!
