Meet Brian & Brian
Location: Florida, USA
Brian and Brian are working with Create Fertility Centre in Toronto. They currently have no children and embryos ready to go. They would like to make the decision surrounding termination on their own.
Having the same first name has been confusing for us at times over our 15+ years together, but we are hoping that it has prepared us well for both of us being called “dad”. We have been dreaming of becoming parents since the early days of our relationship, and have worked incredibly hard, saving where we could, overcoming a few obstacles along the way, until finally arriving at this point, where we hope to find someone special who is willing to go on this journey to fatherhood with us. The amount of time and effort we have invested in this process to date will only make the moment we are finally able to hold our new child all that much more special for us.
We originally met in New Orleans, where Brian S. (“Stewart”) was attending medical school, and Brian M. (“Murphy”) was getting his MBA. We loved the vibrancy of the city, the food, the architecture, and the culture and it served as a launching point for our relationship and life
together. Murphy is originally from the Boston area while Stewart was born and raised in Florida. We now live in Gainesville, Florida which is home to the University of Florida, where Stewart is a physician/professor. Murphy works from home as a management consultant. We have two beloved dogs, Bradi is a labrador mix (Canada connection!), and Aiden, an irish terrier. We each come from close knit families, with Stewart’s family living about 45 minutes from us in Florida, while we visit Boston regularly to spend time with Murphy’s family while they also visit us in Florida where we often meet at Disney World which is about 1.5 hours away from us. We have 7 nieces and nephews currently and we are excited about the possibility of bringing our own child to Disney with them all together someday. Both of our families, countless friends, and neighbors are all supportive of our journey and excited about the prospect of a new child to love.
On a given weekend, you might find us working in our yard, playing tennis (Murphy), or practicing yoga or learning to play the fiddle (Stewart). We like to stay active whether it is dog walks, or riding the 13-mile bike trail together near our home. Gainesville is a wonderful place to raise a family. As a college town, it has tremendous access to arts, culture, and sporting events and very much values nature and environmental stewardship which is important to both of us. We are about an hour in each direction to either the Atlantic ocean, or to the Gulf of Mexico and we both love the beach, although we don’t get to go as often as we would like. We
follow soccer religiously and spend a lot of time in Orlando attending games together with friends. Our home is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, draped in heritage oak trees, and is a perfect spot for kids to grow and play. We are a short walk through a neighborhood path to the local elementary and middle schools. We love our neighborhood and chose it with a future family in mind. It is a wonderful place to live and our neighbors are always looking out for one another, hosting dinners, or doing favors. Of course, each gathering of neighbors inevitably leads to the question “how is the baby progress?”
We are hoping to find someone to join us soon on this journey. We would love to work with someone who fully appreciates the magnitude of the gift they are providing, and someone who is willing to communicate with us during the process and form a good bond. We don’t view this as a transactional relationship whatsoever and would love to make it an enriching experience for all involved. We are willing to strike the right balance of communication so that we can have a good connection together, but also be respectful of how much time makes sense for each of us. We could see a future where we provide occasional updates of our child’s life, particularly around key milestones like birthdays or holidays.
