Meet Germán & Daniel
Location: Chicoutimi, QC
Hello, we are Germán and Daniel. We’ve been together for 11 years. Our love led us, over seven years ago, to embark on the adventure of becoming parents. At that time, we lived in Switzerland, but the surrogacy process led us to discover Canada. Our son was born on April 23, 2017, and for those who are parents, you already know how indescribable it is when your child comes into the world. After that, we decided to settle permanently in Canada. It’s been a little over seven years since his birth. For the past two years, Leo, our son, has been asking for a brother or sister. Our work and academic obligations have prevented us from embarking on the process again until now. Daniel, a neuropsychologist, and I, German, a psychiatrist, have been dedicating time to raising Leo and to our careers. But now the time has come to fulfill a new dream, a dream not only of Daniel and Germán but also of Léonard.
—LETTER TO SURRO—
Dear Surrogate,
We are German and Daniel, a couple who have built our life together with intention, resilience, and deep love. As two men, we have always known that growing our family would not be simple. The path is longer, more complex, and often uncertain. But if anything, that reality has only made us more committed, more prepared, and more willing to fully invest ourselves in this journey. We are more than ready to be present, involved, and deeply engaged every step of the way.
Becoming parents has never been something we take for granted. We already know how extraordinary it is to welcome a child into your life, and we approach this next chapter with humility and gratitude. For us, every single day of a child’s life is a gift to this world — something to honour, protect, and nurture. That belief guides how we live, how we parent, and how we hope to grow our family.
Our son Leonard is a caring and lovely child who brings warmth and empathy into our home. He is already looking forward to becoming a big brother and often speaks with excitement about sharing his world with a sibling. Daniel and I both grew up with siblings, and we know how special and unique that bond can be — a relationship built on shared memories, quiet understanding, and lifelong support. To us, offering that gift to our children would be one of the most meaningful things we could ever do.
Our home is stable, loving, and full of support. Grandparents who are retired and eager to be involved, siblings who are not only family but close friends, and a life that balances meaningful work with real presence at home. We understand that surrogacy requires trust and emotional courage. We value open and fluid communication, finding the right balance between staying informed and always respecting your comfort and boundaries.
We know this process is demanding, and we do not underestimate what it represents. If you choose to walk this path with us, please know that your generosity would forever be part of our family’s story. Our child will grow up knowing they were deeply wanted, intentionally dreamed of, and welcomed through an act of extraordinary kindness.
With warmth and gratitude,
German & Daniel
