Meet Adam & Geoff

Hey there!

We’re Adam and Geoff, and we are looking for a surrogate to help us with a sibling journey to complete our family. We are hopeful that you might be a match for us after reading this!

We are both in our late 30s, we now live in Barrie, and we recently welcomed an amazing baby girl, Freya, to our family in January 2024 through surrogacy with a university friend of Geoff (who is now also a friend of Adam). This friend has graciously offered to do a second surrogacy journey with us, and we are planning for a transfer date for this second journey in January 2025, with a birth later in 2025. In terms of our backgrounds, Adam grew up in the GTA and Geoff grew up in Northern Ontario. We met in January of 2015 in Sudbury where Adam was working as a lawyer and Geoff was going to medical school. We still have many close friends in Sudbury, so go up and visit often. We’ve been together for almost 10 years, got engaged in 2018 in London, UK (Adam proposed to Geoff on a rowboat using a Pokeball), and got married in 2022 (on our 3rd try, since our first two attempts in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled by Covid). Currently Geoff works as a psychiatrist at the hospital in Orillia with an interest in mental health and addictions, and Adam hangs out and takes care of Freya as a stay-at-home dad. We are planning for Adam to stay at home for the next couple of years to look after our kids.

In terms of hobbies and interests, Adam loves sports (curling, volleyball and lawn bowling are his main ones), retro video games (N64 is his fave, and he still has all of his old systems which he will teach our kids to play), board games, karaoke (both alone at home and in pubs), Eurovision, and computer games (Civilization is his fave). Adam loves to entertain and throw theme parties, loves to decorate for all of the holidays (with Christmas being his favourite), and recently has learned to sew and make pottery. He also began making soap from scratch a few years ago, and made soap for our wedding favours. He considers himself to be a skilled BBQ griller, and also makes some mean pancakes, omelets, and fudge.

Geoff is a self-proclaimed nerd, and loves Star Trek, Star Wars, Pokemon, and video games in general. Geoff also enjoys curling and lawn bowling, knitting (he’s made some pretty awesome socks, hats and scarves), EDM (he likes to attend electronic dance music festivals with friends), and he loves to bake. He especially loves making scones and cakes, and in fact made our first surrogate’s wedding cake and cupcakes back in 2014. He also enjoys sewing after taking the same class as Adam. He also enjoys computer games, with his current favourite being Satisfactory. He is more of a homebody, and likes staying in most of the time.

Both of us have always wanted to have kids and have a big family. We both grew up with siblings, and want Freya to get the experience of having siblings as well. We thankfully are in a comfortable position now where we can provide our kids with everything they need. Truth be told, we probably buy Freya a bit too many things but it’s hard to say no to cute and fun things at Winners and Costco! We are excited to share our love and attention with Freya and additional kids, and spend time reading with them, taking them to their chosen sport or activity, and joke around with them and tell them our terrible dad jokes which make them groan. Given that Geoff is a Francophone with both sides of his family being Franco-Ontarian, it is important to us that our children also become Francophones as well. Geoff primarily speaks French to Freya and Adam speaks to her in English, and we plan on continuing this practice for future kids.

In terms of logistics, we are hoping to start the surrogacy process for this sibling journey in late summer, fall, or winter of 2025, with an expected birth in mid to late 2026. Just like we did for our first and second surrogacy journeys, we will be using CReATe in Toronto, as we had a positive and successful experience with them so far. We currently have 10 embryos ready – 5 that are Geoff’s and 5 that are Adam’s. We used Adam’s embryos for our first surrogacy journey, will be using Geoff’s embryos for the second journey, and plan on using Adam’s embryos again for this third and final sibling journey. We would hope that a friendship will develop organically through this process, though we don’t have any expectations on what that will look like. During our first surrogacy journey we had open communication with our surrogate and were available whenever she needed to talk or vent or discuss things, but we also respected her boundaries and trusted her, and didn’t need constant communication. We also have kept in contact with our first surrogate, and regularly message her on our Facebook messenger group chat to give her updates on Freya and share pictures and videos.
