Location: Panorama Gardens, Hong Kong
Watch our video:
We’re Dawon and Daniel, a South Korean couple currently living in Hong Kong. We’re both in our early 40s. Our story began more than 20 years ago when we met as teenagers in South Korea. For nearly a decade, we were best friends, but over time, we realized that our bond was something special, and after a year of dating, we got married in 2013. Since then, our relationship has grown into a true partnership built on mutual respect and humor. Daniel is warm and has a natural ability to connect with people. My father once said that Daniel”s ability to make others feel deeply moved is one of his most defining qualities. He still cares for a Ninja Turtle doll he’s had since he was 7 years old. These qualities reflect the kind of father I know he will be`loving, kind, and always present. I am more reserved and determined, especially when navigating challenges. Together, we balance each other in ways that make us stronger. Eight years ago, we moved to Hong Kong. Living here has strengthened our bond and broadened our perspectives, which we look forward to sharing with our future child. Building a family has been one of the most challenging experiences of our lives. I’ve struggled with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and was later diagnosed with a heart-shaped uterus. Over the past decade, we’ve undergone 12 IVF cycles, five hysteroscopies, and a uterus surgery. Each step brought hope, but it also came with heartbreak, as we experienced three consecutive miscarriages. One of the most poignant moments in our journey was my last miscarriage. I began bleeding one night, and we rushed to hospital. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the outcome we had prayed for. That night, however, made me realize how deeply I want to become a mom. Despite the pain, these experiences have strengthened our relationship and our dream of building a family. Surrogacy has given us a renewed sense of hope`a path we consider a profound gift. And we approach this process with a big humility and responsibility. Our Christian faith is deeply rooted in our lives and serves as a guiding principle. It has been a source of strength and resilience, especially during difficult times. Our faith also shapes how we view this journey`seeing surrogacy as an extraordinary reflection of selflessness and compassion. Surrogacy is more than a way for us to grow our family; it’s a partnership built on trust and mutual respect. We know that this journey wouldn’t be possible without the courage and selflessness of a surrogate. If we’re fortunate enough to connect with someone, we want her to feel valued and appreciated at every stage. Having grown up adapting to new environments, we understand the importance of empathy and communication. And we hope to bring that same sense of openness to this journey. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. Your role in helping families like ours grow is extraordinary, and we are deeply honored to even be considered as part of your story.

Dear Surrogate, Thank you for considering being part of this journey with us. We deeply respect the courage and kindness it takes to be a surrogate and are humbled by the opportunity to connect with someone like you. Your willingness to help a family like ours is extraordinary, and we approach this process with gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility. Our journey to parenthood has been long and challenging, filled with moments of hope and heartbreak. These experiences have taught us resilience and the importance of leaning on others for support. They’ve also deepened our understanding of surrogacy as more than just a medical process`it’s a partnership built on trust and respect. The role you would play in helping us grow our family is one we would always honor. As a couple, we value honesty, transparency, and meaningful relationships. These are qualities we strive to embody in our lives, and they are what we hope to bring to this journey. We believe that strong relationships are built on mutual understanding and open communication, and we hope to create a bond with you that feels supportive, respectful, and genuine. Since we live in Hong Kong, distance could be a challenge, but we are committed to staying connected in ways that feel meaningful and comfortable for you. Whether through calls or messages, we want to maintain regular communication to share updates, celebrate milestones, and ensure you feel supported throughout the process. We also plan to visit Canada during the journey, not only to be part of important moments in person but also to better understand and support you. We see surrogacy as a shared experience where mutual support is essential. Your well-being would always be a priority for us, and we are committed to offering emotional and practical support every step of the way. At the same time, we also recognize that your experiences as a mother bring invaluable insight, and we look forward to learning from your perspectives and wisdom. In Korean culture, there is a saying: ‘Even the brushing of sleeves is an act of fate’ This reflects the belief that every connection, no matter how brief, carries meaning. With this in mind, we find it difficult to put into words the significance of the connection we hope to build with you. If even brief encounters can carry such weight, the bond we share on this journey`one that brings a child into the world`is beyond measure. We hope to create a relationship built on mutual respect and care, one that extends far beyond the surrogacy process itself. We may never be able to fully express the gratitude we feel for what you would give to our family. But we hope to honor it by living our lives with love and gratitude and by raising our child with those same values. Thank you for considering this journey with us. Your strength and love inspire us, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with you. With sincere gratitude, Dawon and Daniel
