Meet Julie-Yan & Mathieu

We are newly married and we’ve been together for almost fourteen years now, Julie-Yan (33 years old), and Mathieu (36 years old). We are from Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, Quebec, Canada. We turned to surrogacy because Julie-Yan can no longer be pregnant. We experienced a pregnancy in 2018 that was interrupted at 20 weeks due to severe preeclampsia. This was followed by multiple health complications that made it risky to attempt another pregnancy (double cardiac arrest & autoimmune illness). We were fortunate enough to be able to turn to surrogacy to begin our journey into parenthood. We had the chance to experience a first surrogacy pregnancy in 2022 and welcomed our little treasure Tristan in February 2022. At the moment, he is 2 years and 9 months old. After much reflection, we are now ready to initiate a second process to expand our family. Julie-Yan is an only child and did not have the privilege to have siblings. Simon is Mathieu’s only brother, holds a significant place in our lives, and we recognize the importance of that bond in our lives. Through all the tests we have overcome in the past few years, he has been someone on whom we can rely; he is unwavering. We have a strong desire to offer Tristan the chance to be a good big brother. We are more than ready to start this beautiful adventure. We have four tested embryos ready at Create fertility clinic in Toronto.
