Letter to Our Future Baby

Dear Future Surrogate,

Before talking about our shared journey, we are immensely thankful for the extraordinary
generosity you’re about to provide for our family. Thank you from the depths of our hearts.

First of all, here is a little bit about us. We are both from the French Alps and from a large family.
Olivier is an osteopath specializing in treating pregnant women and babies, while Benoit is a
researcher developing new cancer treatments.

We met in 2019 and moved in together just three months later, which only made us fall more
in love. Our relationship is all about mutual respect, trust, kindness, communication , and
tenderness. We love nature, traveling, hiking, fine wines, golf, and the sea.

We recently got engaged and plan to have our wedding after our surrogacy journey. Meeting
each other has strengthened our desire to be fathers and we are ready to embark on this
incredible journey to parenthood with you. Our dream of being parents started years ago, and
when we met, it began to feel possible. We have 12 embryos created with a wonderful
Canadian known egg donor.

Thanks to you, we can now picture our life as parents—teaching our child to ride a bike,
swimming, walking, and watching them grow. Our families are beyond excited and ready to
welcome the future child with open arms, especially our nephews and nieces who can’t wait
to meet their cousin.

We can’t wait to take our child to places close to our hearts, like our family home by the sea in
Corsica where Olivier spent his childhood summers. We’re passionate about different cultures,
especially English and Spanish, and look forward to introducing our child to them. Benoit, who
speaks better English, will handle most of the communication with you.

We hope with all our hearts that the pregnancy will go smoothly. Of course we will at times be
nervous due to the distance. However, no matter what our priority is supporting you in
whatever way that looks like. As our surrogate we trust you will care for this baby in the best
way possible. Despite the language barrier, we will find ways to connect with you throughout
the process. We see our surrogate as a friend and after the birth, we would love to stay in
touch and share milestones, like birthdays and holidays, if you are comfortable with that. You
will be giving us an incredible gift, and we will always be grateful. We’ve visited Canada before
and can’t wait to come back and meet you in person.
