Meet Jeffrey & Romain

Hi! We’re Jeff and Romain. We met 15 years ago at university. Romain was studying in Edmonton as an international student from France, and Jeff had never met anyone like him before. We fell in love and began our journey together as a couple, bringing us to Montreal, Kansas, and Washington State before finally settling in Saskatoon (of all places!).

We have wanted to have a child for several years, and an amazing chance arose when Jeff’s cousin, who lives in Calgary, told us that she wanted to donate three embryos to us. She and her (male) partner had fertility challenges and created the embryos through an egg donor (her partner provided the sperm). They have two beautiful children through this procedure, and have decided not to have any more children.

Following this miraculous news, we started looking for someone to carry the embryos. We have learned that surrogacy is a beautiful process built on trust and generosity. It was scary at first to think about finding someone who would agree to take on such an important responsibility, someone that we had never met before. However, we have seen stories from other people, and understand how precious the journey can be.

We are looking for someone who is committed to open communication and who is deeply caring. We see our role as extremely important as well during the process. Our love is a key ingredient in this pregnancy, and our support and respect for the surrogate is a gift to our future child.
