I am a 40-year-old intended parent on my surrogacy journey for 4 years now. Recently, I was matched with a wonderful surrogate, though regrettably she had to pull out before our planned embryo transfer. I am grateful that you can take a moment to hear my story, and hopefully be that special person to join my journey towards parenthood.
Coming from a close-knit family, my partner and I have longed to start a family of our own. After separating and considering my age, I decided to pursue surrogacy as a single intended parent. Parenthood would be central to my life, and I want to maintain the mental and physical energy to still keep up with my children as they grow up. I particularly look forward to bonding activities like teaching my children how to ride a bicycle and going on camping or hiking trips, which hold special memories from my childhood with my father.
I have an excellent support network of friends and family, with my parents very much looking forward to helping out with grandparent duties(!). I work for family-friendly employer providing me with flexibility of balancing work and home life. In my spare time I often volunteer at the local animal shelter, where I first met my now 9-year-old golden retriever. I have a curious mind for new adventures and that often means trekking the great outdoors and discovering new places.
I value empathy and trust and would love to grow a relationship with my surrogate based on these values. Communicating openly is important and I want to hear your stories and how things are going. Of course, I would dearly cherish the support we can lend each other.
