My name is Nicolas, I’m 31 and I’m an elementary school teacher.

I lived in France all my life, and for 3 years now I’ve been in Canada to discover this country, to rediscover my profession, but above all to fulfill my dream of becoming a parent.

I’m very close to my family and friends, whom I try to see as often as possible. They support me and help me a lot in my project. Some of my friends have even given me a few lessons in looking after newborn babies 🙂

Whenever possible, I try to travel. Otherwise, in my spare time, I cook, hike and read a lot.

I love my work, which is a real vocation for me; but sometimes I just enjoy sitting quietly in front of a film.

I’m naturally pleasant and friendly, but I’m also a discreet person who likes to keep things simple.

For the future, I hope to become a father and raise my child in France surrounded by my family and close friends. I think Canada will always have an important place in my life, so I can’t rule out returning when my child is a little older. My dream is to one day be able to set up my own alternative school; but this project will take second place to the baby!

With the surrogate mother, I want to have a relationship based on mutual trust. I’m willing to support the surrogate during her pregnancy if she so wishes. If not, I’d like to hear from her at least once a week and take part in ultrasounds. I think open and simple communication is the key to success, especially as I’m an understanding person who respects everyone’s choices.

After the birth, if the surrogate mother wishes to keep in touch I will be happy to provide news, photos/videos, etc. But I am open to letting the surrogate lead and let a relationship develop naturally. If the surrogate is open to communication I think that’s a decision for the surrogate to make and also for the child, as he or she grows up. It is important that the surrogate does not feel we are imposing on her life as we respect her autonomy as well.

Through my video and this text, I’ve tried to show you that I’m a simple person, who “only” needs to meet a generous and altruistic person ready to help me in this project. I’m aware that for a surrogate mother, it’s a big decision; that’s why I’ll always be available if needed.
