Meet Julie & Frederic

Hi, we’re Julie and Frédéric from Chibougamau in northern Quebec. It’s been 11 years since life brought us together, and we’ll soon be married for 6. Since the very first day of our relationship, we’ve become inseparable, supporting each other through good times and bad, in short, we’re soul mates.

It was between the 2nd and 3rd years of our beautiful love story, which is still going strong today, that we were ready to start a family. However, after several unsuccessful attempts and due to Julie’s medical history (cancer of the left groin muscle at the age of 7-8, which was treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy at CHU St-Justine in Montreal), we went to see a fertility clinic in Chicoutimi, which is the closest to our town. We spent about 8 years undergoing fertility treatment, only to learn that we were both fertile, but that it was Julie’s fallopian tubes that were completely blocked and that her uterus was unable to bear a child following radiation treatment for her cancer. Shortly before learning that Julie would not be able to bear children, we had already begun the first stages of an in vitro protocol and we already have 3 beautiful embryos frozen, between day 5 and day 7 of their development. So, our last chance to have our child with 100% of our genetics is surrogacy.

With all the hardships we’ve been through so far, we cherish life even more. We are grateful for and enjoy every moment spent with our two families, our friends and just the two of us at home. Our two extended families live nearby, so we see each other regularly and have their support. Our future child will be surrounded by lots of love right from the start.

You must be an extraordinary person to consider becoming a surrogate. Truly, words can never express the enormous impact your generosity will have on our lives. We are filled with joy, love and gratitude knowing that somewhere, a woman full of compassion and kindness will offer us the privilege of parenthood. Giving meaning to the word HOPE!
