We are Hugo (36) and Jens (49), a Franco-German couple living in beautiful Vienna, Austria !

We are so excited to start our surrogacy journey and we would like to start by expressing how grateful we are for the gift that you could give us. Hopefully, the few lines below will provide you with a bit more background on who we are, why we want to become fathers and how we envision our fatherhood, but also our relationship after birth.

Kindness, respect and honesty are the words on which we build our relationships, our own, but also with our families and friends. They were the guiding principles of our education and we continue to abide by these principles as a couple. We were raised in loving and caring families, Jens in the Black Forest in Germany and Hugo in Marseille, in France. We have a lot of uncles and aunts, godchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces – nothing makes us happier than joyful family gatherings, big Sunday lunch tables and outdoor activities with our loved ones! We also feel very lucky to be able to live our lives freely, with accepting and loving family and friends surrounding us.

After years in our respective countries, Hugo moved to Vienna to work at the United Nations, where Jens was already established, working in the Human Resources field. Our 2 paths luckily crossed in February 2016 in a coffee house in Vienna and since then we have been happily building our relationship where love , authenticity and respect keep growing every day. In our free time, we enjoy traveling, all sorts of outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and tennis, but also good food and good music.

After 7 years together, we got married in Marseille in 2022, where we gathered all our friends and family from around the world for a weekend of celebration. This was the culmination of years of our love and we feel we are now ready for the next step.

The topic of having children was raised during our 3rd date 😀 so this is a dream that we’ve both had for a very long time. It was clear between us that once we felt that we could offer happiness, safety and stability to a child we would initiate the process. Thinking of this, it is hard for us to not get emotional immediately! We already feel a strong sense of responsibility and rejoice in the chance of becoming a family. There is so much love between each other that we can only imagine how much we will love our baby. Sometimes, our hearts are not enough to contain all the love we have to give – as cliché as it might sounds 😉

We hope to bring up our child to be confident, happy and joyful and we want to ensure that every moment is a moment of fun, of learning and of security. We strive to offer our baby the best that we can and will rely on the support and advice of our family and friends for that. We are lucky to be both able to go on parental leave and will use this time fully. We also had very present and active parents and intend to do the same.

Vienna is an amazing and very safe city to raise children: full of green spaces, good kindergartens and schools, it’s a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. Also, if we wish to escape the city, we are within minutes in nature with forests, lakes and mountains.

All of this to tell you that we feel ready, and we are so glad that you are reading us! We want to offer you a sense of safety and security and we will be present for you along this amazing journey together! We are in awe of the gift you, as our surrogate; will give us. We are looking forward to building a relationship after-birth and sharing key moments in the life of our child!
