We are Adam and DongNi, and we are already very grateful that you are taking the time to hear our story and possibly consider helping us.

We were classmates in undergraduate school but didn’t start dating until the summer of 2010 before we went on to several years of postgraduate schools in different countries (Adam in Canada and DongNi in US). That summer was one of the best summers of our lives together, learning about each other, and wishing we had known each other sooner. We still remember the dreams we shared with each other, how we both wanted a big family.

In 2011, DongNi was diagnosed with an autoimmune kidney disease. Luckily, she had the best doctor who immediately put her on aggressive immunotherapy and saved her kidneys from progressive decline. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with multiple heart conditions. Thankfully all her conditions are now well managed and do not interfere with daily life or her raising children. And although none of these conditions are hereditary and would not be passed onto our child, doctors have told us that DongNi could not safely carry a pregnancy.

In 2013, sadly, Adam’s father passed away suddenly but DongNi was there for him and we got through it together. Not long after, Adam became the luckiest man alive getting engaged to DongNi in 2014 and married in 2016. That very year at the age of 28 and 29, we took the first step toward our dream and created PGS tested embryos that our clinic recommends for transfer.

Not long after, life once again brought us very tough times, with DongNi’s father getting very sick and tragically passing in 2017. It was a big blow to all our family, but we all stuck together and kept strong and kept looking forward. Just as we were starting to recover in 2018, DongNi’s mother became very seriously sick. DongNi did all she could to support her mother through this time and by the luckiest of fortunes her mother is doing much better now.

Through life’s up and down, our love only grew stronger and our hopes and dreams of having children never faded. In 2022 we met our wonderful surrogate mother who decided to help us on her last journey. That little embryo is now has smiles that melt hearts and farts that clear rooms and we treasure every waking moments with her. We want to share with her this deep love, our love of life, love of family, appreciation of time spent together and all the life experiences. We want to give her the world and more. And that includes the hope of giving her a sibling so she will never feel lonely and will always have a confidante. It would be our dream to watch them play together and grow together. We look forward to enjoying boardgame nights at home and taking them on so many adventures with us exploring the world together. A road trip dedicated to trying different food is definately on the menu!

We are extremely thankful that surrogacy is an option for us, and so grateful that there are women like you out there with such amazing kind hearts willing to give the most precious miracle gift to complete our family. We look forward to hearing from you and again deeply appreciate that you care and understand why we need you.

Thank you,

Adam and DongNi
