Dear surrogate mother, We are a couple living in Venice, Italy. We met in 2015 by a mutual friend and then we got to know each other at a carnival party at Davide’s home. Sandro was living in France, after a year, he came back to Italy for love and we live together since. We’ve got married in 2021: it’s been an unforgettable day, we took our family and friends on a boat trip with food and music. We live in a friendly neighborhood in Venice city, on the mainland. There are parks, schools and everything we need just a few steps from us, our home is sweet and ready to welcome our future baby. The main passion we have in common is doing outdoor sports together, spending some time in the nature. We also enjoy walking around town and biking everywhere, we like to eat out with friends in nice restaurants. We love eating healthy and cooking, we often go to the daily market to buy fresh food for our dishes, and we often invite our family and friends for dinners. We also love traveling around Europe, every year we visit old towns, big cities, islands, beaches and more. We are surrounded by the love of our family: parents, brother and sister, grandparents, they all live a few kilometers from us. We like to spend time with the family, for tea, for dinner, for parties and birthdays. Our nephews love playing with us and so do we. It was a big joy for all of our relatives to know we want to become parents and they can’t wait for it to become a reality. Togetherness is unfailing for us. Sandro: I was born 36 years ago in a town in the Venetian mainland, in a beautiful and happy family. I was raised with a lot of love. When I was little, my brother and I often played ball in a park with friends from our neighborhood or we liked cycling. Every year, in the summer, we used to spend our holidays with my mother’s family in France (South West). We couldn’t wait to arrive and see our grandparents, uncles, aunts and all the cousins and their friends again. I loved spending time with my grandparents: discussing with them about what was happening in the city and the news of the day, leafing through the newspaper when I woke up at breakfast; going to the market together. With them we had wonderful meals in the garden, we went to the pool, beach, mountains and to the village parties. I work and have always worked in restaurants and hotels, between seas and mountains, but it is among the countryside, winery and vineyards that I fell in love with the world of wine. Now I am a sommelier trying to put forward the natural and biodynamic producers who are the ones that I love the most. I am sociable, dynamic, peaceful, adventurous… I also thought I was organized, but Davide is much better than me, he is the top 😉 Davide: I was born 33 years old in a town near Venice, where I grew up surrounded by a big and lovely family. I used to spend a lot of time playing with my sister and my friends, I loved skiing in the mountains and going to the beach for the holidays. My best memories are Christmas celebrations with my mother’s family, we still use to celebrate at my grandparents’ house with the kids, having a big traditional dinner, waiting for the bells to ring and rushing through the stairs, with loud music playing, to see Santa run away… very exciting moments (I guess this year is my turn to impersonate Santa Claus). I was a very good child, very dedicated in my studies. I really enjoy learning new things, adapt to different environments and trying to become a better version of myself. Growing up I made many friends, I spend a lot of time with all of them, we share the best moments together and we are very close. I work in the public office of urban development and environmental protection. My passion is renovations; recently I’m getting more interested in urban landscaping and renovation. I used to work on home renovations projects and works, and I am planning to do it again in the future. I’m so lucky to be with Sandro, he’s a good man, a big heart, I think he will be the best father! Since we met our love has always been growing, we really do complete each other. Our families are multilingual: Sandro’s mother is French; Davide’s mother grew up in Germany, and his sister is an English and German teacher. As you can see, we like nature, cooking, sports, and traveling and if you want we could have plenty of time to exchange tips for pasta and pizza, etc.😉. When we knew how the surrogacy process in Canada is and how generously you want to help people, it was clear to us that it was only thanks to you that we could do it. We just can’t describe the respect we have. We would like to have the best possible relationship with the person who will bring our baby into the world, so that you can become an important part of our family, and we hope that you will join the group of those closest to us. During your pregnancy, you can count on our support at any time, any day. We can talk to each other, whenever you want, to tell us how you feel, how the day is going, and even just talk about this and that. In any case, we will have the relationship you want to have and we will be there whenever you need. We would love to share with you the most beautiful moments together with our families, especially on holidays, anniversaries and special occasions via zoom, whatsapp, telephone, and we will look forward to welcoming you and your family here in Venice. Possibly in the future we will return to Canada and we will be able to see each other again. It will be very nice to be able to let our son know the place where he was born and the people who brought him into the world. We don’t want to miss a moment of this exciting adventure; we can’t wait for you to move on, because we have never been so ready, confident and convinced to move forward. We unfortunately cannot have access to adoption because in our country it is permitted only for married hetero couples, but we are open to eventually become foster parents in the future or adopt in other country if it’ll be possible. We are lucky to have had the help of a wonderful Canadian donor with who we are in touch and have a good relationship. Thanks to her we created nine embryos a year ago, six of them are of excellent quality, and are currently stored at Create in Toronto. We have embryos from both of us. Our desire is for both to have the same chance of being the biological father. We have always dreamt to have children, since we were young: being able to teach them all that we can, transmit all the good that our loved ones have handed down to us, teaching them to believe in themselves and encourage them to go the extra mile. It’s not that easy, it takes time, energy, patience… we are aware of that, but we are ready for everything! You are giving us the most important gift we’ll ever have, so we’ll honestly be forever grateful. We’ll be very happy to be able to tell you more about us, we can’t wait to meet you! Sandro & Davide
