Meet Ross & Harry

We’re an English-Irish same sex male married couple living in Cork, Ireland. We met eight years ago by chance, whilst Harry was studying for his Chemistry PhD, and it was love at first sight. We both knew that this was it, and after a few years, we got engaged on a cliff walk overlooking the Mediterranean sea whilst soaking up some winter sun in Malta (March 2017). Eighteen months later, we got married in a big beautiful house in West Cork in front of all our family and friends (August 2018). Our wedding was very relaxed, we grew our own flowers and made our own decorations, had our ceremony outside in the sunshine, and kept our guests entertained. Everyone always tells us how much fun they had and quite a few people turned it into a week long holiday!
Harry loves Ross’ kindness, humour and warmth, and Ross loves Harry’s tenderness and caring nature. Harry loves being outside, whether that is gardening, foraging for food or hiking up a mountain. Ross loves music and photography, often taking us to gigs and photographing all our adventures. We regularly see family and friends in Ireland, the UK and further afield, going on weeks/weekends away to spend time with them all.
When we’re parents, we are looking forward to sharing the wonders of the big wide world with our children, taking them on trips to see family and friends, camping in the summer, or even exploring the back garden. Additionally, on those days we cannot be outside, Ross will probably entertain them with the latest gadget or showing them how to take photos (something our six year old niece is now obsessed with) and Harry will probably be building a cushion fort or teaching them how to cook.
When we first discussed the topic of starting a family, we embarked on an extensive research journey, determined to uncover the best path to turn our dream into reality. We delved into countless resources, soaking up as much knowledge as we could along the way. Numerous hours have been devoted to heartfelt conversations about our future children and the incredible woman (our surrogate) who will play a pivotal role in making this cherished dream come true. It’s truly inspiring to witness someone’s desire to assist a couple who, due to circumstances, can’t have their own biological children together.
In our minds, we’ve envisioned establishing a long lasting, meaningful friendship with our surrogate once everything falls into place. We hope to talk frequently, send photos and videos and say hello in person every now and again, if that is what our future surrogate would like!
We’re filled with hope, picturing our future as a family of four. Our greatest aspiration is for our children to enjoy life, growing up into remarkable individuals. We are deeply moved and profoundly grateful for your decision to support us on this remarkable journey. Your willingness to help us become dads is a profound act of kindness, and we can’t thank you enough for being a crucial part of making our dream a beautiful reality.
