Meet Arian & Daniel

We are Daniel and Arian, two physicians from Barcelona. First we are going to talk about us a little bit and then we will tell you about how we met and our life together.
Daniel: I was born and raised in Valencia (Spain), I have a younger brother and we grew up carefree and happy. My mom dedicated her life to raising us and to take care of my (now) 92 year old grandma. My dad worked very hard to provide for us, and now times are better and he is able to help my mom with grandma. I always liked to read a lot and I have to say that Harry Potter and crime fiction are my favorites! I also worked a lot to help pay for my studies and finally became a surgeon. I’m now working in the department of Colo-rectal surgery near Barcelona, and really enjoy it. My parents have always been a big support and are very proud of me and my brother’s achievements. My brother is my best friend, he is a lawyer and also helping us a lot in this process. For fun I still like to read a lot, but lately our three little cats (Phoebe, Merlin and Kapser) are keeping me on my feet!!! Arian is the one that usually cooks for us, but Sunday is Paella time (a traditional dish from Valencia), so that’s when I am in charge and enjoy preparing a meal for family and friends.
Arian: I was born in Germany but grew up in Spain (Barcelona). Me and my two brothers (one older, one younger) were raised by my mother and my grandmother, after my mother decided to leave Germany and father because of an unhealthy marriage. We all always had a very good relationship. Later on, my mother got married again and our stepdad raised us as we were his own children. I grew up just one street away from the beach so I enjoy swimming, the sea, surfing and just being outside. I learned to play the Spanish acoustic guitar when I was little and still enjoy playing it. My parents moved to Florida (US) part-time when I was starting medical school, so I was able to travel a lot thanks to them, and spend all my summer vacations in college at my parents’ in Fortlauderdale. My older brother moved to Brazil with his wife and now I have a little nephew, so we try to travel to see each other at least two times a year. After I finished medical school i decided to move to Germany for surgery residency.
And this is when our story began…
We have been together for four years now but our first meeting was in the Hospital when Arian was a student and Daniel was doing his internship in General Surgery. Then we lost contact and Arian moved to Germany. Two years later, we met again in Barcelona and we started dating. Every two weeks, one of us would travel to the other’s country just to spend the weekend together. Six months later, Arian moved to Barcelona and we started living together. We rescued our first cat from the shelter, wanting to give a sick cat a home, but sadly, he passed away just after 6 months. Now we have three cats and enjoy every second with them, especially on our terrace when its warm in the summertime. We are engaged and we are getting married this year. Since we got together, we knew we wanted to have kids. It has been a long way to start our journey but we are excited and enjoying each part of this personal trip. All our friends and family are supporting us. We traveled to Toronto last February and we are ready to match with an amazing woman who will give us the biggest gift one person can ever give.
