Hello!
We are Francesca (33) and Arjen (31), a couple living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Francesca is Italian and Arjen is Dutch; we met during university and have been together for 11 years. We got married in June this year, in Italy, where Francesca grew up. It was such a wonderful day. We felt so happy surrounded by our friends and family, who are really important to us. We thought it would be nice to share a picture of our wedding day – you can find it attached to this email 🙂
Ever since we first got together, we talked about starting a family together – our families are so important to us, we could not imagine not having a family of our own. Unfortunately, Francesca was born with a syndrome that prevents her from carrying her own children. This has been a difficult journey for her; however, Arjen has been really supportive. Because of this, we did not know whether our dream of having a family would ever become a reality. We did lots of research and found out that we had the option to start a surrogacy journey in Canada. In the past year, we started working with CFC and with the CReATe clinic in Toronto, we hired a lawyer in Canada and one in The Netherlands and travelled to Toronto to create our embryos.
We are so happy to share that we have 7 healthy embryos that have passed genetic testing! This means we are now ready to start! Our trip to Toronto made us realize how excited we are to become parents – we can’t wait, and every step in that direction makes us happy and hopeful. We really hope to find a great match with a surrogate mom that can share this adventure with us.
When we think of our relationship with our future surrogate mom, we would like it to be based on open and honest communication. We would love to have frequent communication and to be able to support one another through this emotional and beautiful journey.
When we imagine our life with our future child, we want him or her to be surrounded by love and by family. We are lucky enough to have beautiful families around us that cannot wait to welcome our little one to the world.
Something more about us – we like to stay active and do sports. Arjen loves running and swimming, while Francesca has a passion for yoga and meditation. Together, we enjoy hiking and stand-up paddling on the Amsterdam canals. We also discovered a passion for rock’n’roll dancing and even did a rock’n’roll choreography at our wedding. Francesca also enjoys painting and Arjen is a great singer. We can’t wait to welcome our child to a home full of music and paint stains!
