We wake up every day and feel so blessed that we have found each other and are so happy at the life we have created together. Our journey on the path to create a family up to this point has been difficult in so many ways emotionally, spiritually and physically. We have been and continue to be each other’s rocks thru the good, the bad and the ugly. We had surgery, tried IVF and we are at a point in our lives where surrogacy is our last viable chance to achieve our dream of a family. We are hoping that we will be blessed with the gift of being parents via surrogacy.

We were so lucky to have been picked by an amazing surrogate who didn’t waiver after 2 failed IVF attempts. She kept us going – our cheerleader by telling us that she is not giving up she wants to give us and see a little bundle of joy in our hands. We got pregnant on the 3rd try – Nov 11, 2021. What a memorable day that was and would be for the rest of our lives. Our surrogate and our beautiful baby girl began to thrive and we were so happy that we were on our way to finally becoming parents and having our dream of a family realized.

On Jan 24, 2022 our surrogate had gone in for a routine monthly ultrasound check up. She called us after the ultrasound and told us that our baby was 100% healthy and growing day by day. A couple hours later on the same day the OBGYN that was following our surrogate called us and told us that our surrogate was not doing well and we would have to terminate the pregnancy immediately in order to save our surrogates life. Our surrogate had severe preeclampsia and her organs were shutting down and on death’s door. Immediate action needed to be taken we were 22 weeks, we had a healthy baby and our world was turned upside down. We couldn’t believe what was happening or what the doctors were telling us. How could this be? We feel we have been in a bad dream since Jan 24. Unfortunately, this was not a dream on Jan 25, 2022 our little perfect baby girl as induced and was born she was too small to be put in the NICU and our dreams of becoming parents was shattered…we were so close. 2 more weeks and she would be able to survive in the NICU. We buried our beautiful perfect baby girl on Feb 1, 2022 with her grandmother. The most tragic thing happened to us something that was unthinkable to both of us.

Bill and I had to stay strong and once again be each others rock more than ever. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing big fat Greek family and friends who never left us alone, who stayed by our side and have helped us thru this truly tragic event.

Our previous surrogate, family, friends and 8 godchildren are our cheerleaders they continue to remind us how amazing we would be as parents and not to let this define us but give us strength to continue on our path to pursue our dream of having a little one. We hope you read our story, we hope you feel our loss, we hope you pick us, we hope you select us and together continue on the path with us, and more than anything we hope that you are able to give us the gift of a little miracle in our hands more than ever before with your help this can happen for us again.
