Meet Jonathan & Arturo

We are Jonathan and Arturo, from Sherbrooke, Québec, and Monterrey, Mexico. As restless travelers, it was only natural we would meet while traveling. We happened to run into each other for the first time in Tel Aviv in 2018, two days before returning to our respective countries. About 24 hours after meeting each other, Jonathan asked Arturo if he wanted kids in his life. It was clear from the get go that moving on together would be the first step to build a family.

After getting to know each other better, both in Canada and Mexico, we decided to move in together in Sherbrooke. ‘We could try for just a hundred years to start’ we said.

We then started making plans to get married and finding the perfect house for our future family when COVID showed up. Even if we had to spend seven months apart from each other, we didn’t let that bring us down and we planned a small, intimate, covid-proof wedding in Monterrey in 2020. In the end, a hundred years together seemed too short.

We now live in our new house, as close as can be to an elementary school, with our three cats, Zaïa, Kenya and Tsigane, two of which we adopted when they showed up to our door after being abandoned.

Arturo always envisioned having a child, but had never found the right one to build a family with until he found Jonathan. He loves kids so much that whenever there is one in the house, he is always the one to go play with them. He has a nephew who he loves to play with and he helps him with his homework whenever he can.

Jonathan also always thought he would have kids. While looking for the best partner to raise his family, he kept close with his own nephew, whom he visited every week for the first two years of his life. He likes to brag about having special powers to put any crying babies to sleep and hopes this power carries on to when he becomes a father himself.

We have wanted this family even before we knew each other and are finally ready to start this journey together. We are looking forward to establish a great relationship with a woman who will be willing to give us the greatest gift anybody could give us : bring our baby to this world.
